CPU (Central processing Unit)
CPU का पूरा नाम Central Processing Unit है । यह Processor के नाम से भी जाना जाता है । जो कि एक Electronic Chip के समान होता है । यह Computer के सभी Instructions को Control और Process करता है और Program के अनुसार परिणाम प्राप्त करता है । इसके बाद Computer कोई Output देता है । CPU, Computer System का Brain होता हैं । Computer में प्रत्येक Input का Output प्राप्त करने के लिए CPU से होकर गुजरना पड़ता है ।
Components of CPU
CPU को तीन भागों मे बाँटा गया है –
- Arithmetical Logical Unit ( ALU )
- Control Unit ( CU )
- Memory Unit ( MU )
Arithmetical Logical Unit (ALU
यह CPU का प्रमुख भाग होता है । इसका प्रयोग अंकगणितीय एवं तार्किक गणना करने के लिए किया जाता है । For example Sum , Subtract , Multiply , Division तथा Comparative ( तुलनात्मक) जैसे कार्यों का Process CPU के भाग ALU के द्वारा ही होता है । इसके अलावा Logical ( तार्किक) कार्य के अंतर्गत Select करना, Match करना आदि भी CPU के इसी भाग का कार्य होता है । इस प्रकार ALU का कार्य Arithmetical Operations और Logical Operations को करना होता है ।

Control Unit (CU)
CU का पूरा नाम Control Unit होता है। इस Control Unit का कार्य Hardware के किये गए क्रियाओं को Control and Operate करने का कार्य करती है इसके साथ ही यह Input Output के कार्यो को भी Control करती है | यह Memory और ALU के बीच हो रहे निर्देशो के आदान प्रदान को Control करने का कार्य करती है । यह Computer system का heart का होता है | Processor मे control unit का कार्य Instruction register में Binary machine शब्द के Decode करना और उचित Control Signal जारी करना होता है
Memory Unit (MU)
यह Computer का Brain कहलाता है | यह Computer का वह भाग होता है, जहाँ Data तथा Instructions को Stored किया जाता है तथा आवश्यकता पड़ने पर Data को C.P.U को उपलब्ध कराया जाता है । यह C.P.U. का ही एक भाग होता है , जिससे मिलकर संपूर्ण Computer बनता है । Storage Device के Main Folder को Root Directory कहा जाता है
Input Device
Input Device, वे Device होते हैं जिनका प्रयोग Computer में Data तथा निर्देशों (Instruction) को Input के रूप में देने के लिए किया जाता है । As:- Keyboard, Mouse, Light pen, Microphone, Bar Code Reader (BCR), Optical Mark Reader (OMR), Scanner and etc.
Keyboard
Keyboard, Computer का एक प्रमुख Input Device होता है । इसका उपयोग Computer को निर्देश (Instructions) देने के लिए किया जाता है । आमतौर पर Keyboard पर उपस्थित अक्षर, नंबर और चिन्ह इत्यादि के Key द्वारा निर्देश दिया जाता है। यह Computer के Hardware भाग के अंतर्गत आता है । Keyboard में लगभग 104 या 108 Key होती है । Keyboard को Computer से Connect करने के लिए पहले से ही एक Port बनाया गया होता है। लेकिन आजकल USB Keyboard भी आते हैं । जिसे USB Port में लगाकर Computer से Connect किया जाता है ।
